What you can and cannot do
Chub Cay is a private island club. Port-of-entry services are limited; the rest of the island is members-only.
Must do — before anything below
Hail the marina on VHF 68 and email info@chubcay.com before arrival and on approach, and obtain written permission. Nothing on the “can do” list applies without this.
What you can do
With contact and written authorization, during operating hours where noted
- Clear Bahamas customs and immigration during operating hours (7am–7pm), with proper documentation and payment of the Clearing Services Fee
- Take on fuel, water, ice, and frozen bait at the fuel dock during operating hours
What you cannot do
Private island — members and escorted guests only beyond designated access
- Enter, dock, moor, or remain in the marina without prior written permission (Unauthorized Fee — $5,000 USD applies; the club may also pursue criminal trespass charges)
- Traverse the island without an employee escort (may result in criminal trespass charges)
- Proceed past the fuel dock into the marina — without a slip reservation, this is never permitted
- Tie up or remain at the fuel dock between 7pm and 7am — the fuel dock must be clear overnight
Services available
Customs, fuel, and island access during operating hours.
Customs & immigration
Non-members may clear Bahamas customs and immigration at Chub Cay daily from 7am to 7pm. Have your documentation and cruising permit ready. Clearing Services Fee applies (below).
Fuel & provisions
Non-members and transients may take on diesel and gasoline at the fuel dock during operating hours (7am–7pm), along with water, ice, and frozen bait. Deep-water access for larger vessels. Vessels may not tie up or remain at the fuel dock overnight (7pm–7am).
Guests & visitors
Beyond customs and fuel, the beaches, clubhouse, and amenities are reserved for members and their accompanying guests. You may not move freely around the property unescorted. Planning to join someone? Coordinate through your member host.
The Fuel & Customs page is a summary only — the arrival procedures on this page govern.
